Picked up an old Honda motorcycle as a winter project

Hi everyone. Picked up an old Honda motorcycle as a winter project, a late 90s CBR. Engine turns over but runs rough, and I want to do a proper carb clean and valve check myself. I'd rather work from the actual factory service manual than random forum posts. Is there somewhere online to get legit Honda service manuals for older bikes? Planning to have it running by spring, so I've got the winter to do it right. I've done basic maintenance before, but never a full valve job.

Good project bike, those older CBRs are fun once they're sorted. Definitely go with the factory service manual for valves, the clearances and torque specs matter. I found mine on ManualMachine https://manualmachine.com/ - they've got a big section for Honda, and there's even a CBR1000RR service manual with hyperlinks that shows up in their popular list, so check if your exact model is there. The factory manuals have the full carb sync procedure and exploded diagrams, way better than guessing from photos. Some service manuals need points to download, but for something like a valve job it's worth it. Pro tip: bag and label every screw from the carbs, you'll thank yourself later.
